Abstract: Background Children with severe cognitive impairments (CI) from any cause, such as cerebral palsy (CP), dysmorphic or chromosomal syndromes, traumatic brain injury, neurodegenerative disorders, and epileptic syndromes, experience pain more frequently than healthy peers.
