“…School nursing is an integral component of public health nursing, and this concept of public health as the foundation for school nurse practice is explicitly stated in the new school nurse definition (NASN, 2016a). However, the use of school nurses as preceptors and the placement of student nurses in public and private schools to promote public health was not used to its fullest in Connecticut, especially at Southern Connecticut State University (SCSU) (Rossman, Dood, & Squires, 2012).
