Untuk itu perlu dilakukan perlakuan untuk meningkatkan mutu air laut bahan baku garam konsumsi antara lain dengan membuat kolam sedimentasi dan kolam tandon untuk mendapatkan bahan baku yang lebih baikKaliwlingi Village, Brebes Regency is an area that plays an important role as a producer of boiled and table salt in Central Java Province. However, information regarding the content of organic matter and the pollution index in relation to the quality standards of sea water in ponds as raw material for table salt is still limited. The purpose of this study was to determine the content of dissolved solids, salinity levels, pH, and temperature in several ponds of Kaliwlingi Village, Brebes Regency which were used as raw material for salt production and to compare them with the quality standard of raw salt seawater. The descriptive method was applied in this study with the material of samples of pond water in Kaliwlingi Village which were measured in situ at a depth of 1 meter as a data source for total dissolved solids (TDS), pH, temperature, and salinity. The data was then analyzed qualitatively using a pollution index of STORET method through the Decree of the State Minister of the Environment number 115 of 2003 and the Decree of the Minister of the Environment No. 51 of 2004 concerning guidelines for determining the status of sea water quality for consumption salt raw materials..The results showed that the TDS content of raw material salt water was 1109-1692 mg.L-1, pH 7,6-8,7, salinity levels 16,9-19 ppt and the temperature range of 29,7-3,3oC. The condition of ponds in Kaliwlingi Village, Brebes Regency is classified as moderately polluted waters because almost all of the parameters tested passed the sea water quality standard for the manufacture of consumption salt and passed the STORET index with a water score of -12. For this reason, it is necessary to carry out treatment to improve the quality of seawater, among others, by setting up sedimentation and reservoir ponds to obtain better sea water as as raw materials for table salt production..
