The long-tailed macaque (Macaca fascicularis) is a primate often found in Indonesia, with the current IUCN Red List status being endangered. One of the habitats of this species is the Kalisalak Forest. The social behaviour of this species has never been studied much; therefore, further research is needed on this site. This study aimed to analyse the frequency and duration of social behaviour of seven age groups of each sex. The study was conducted from April to July 2021. The research used scan sampling and continuous recording rules with 15-minute intervals (8:00 am-5:00 pm). The social behaviour data were analysed by ethogram percentage and compared with each social behaviour and age group using a statistical correlation test. The results show that the highest frequency is playing (42.92%), then grooming (41.29%), while the lowest is agonistic (8.33%), and then mating (7.46%). The duration of grooming (57.61%) is higher than playing (42.39%), while agonistic and mating are not counted because they are event behaviour. No frequency correlation (p-value>0.05) between grooming and age exists. A frequency correlation (p-value<0.05) between playing, agonistic, and mating with age group. There is no correlation (p-value>0.05) between the age group’s duration of grooming and playing.

This study aims to know the type and food preference for the long-tailed monkey (Macaca fascicularis) in the Gunung Pengsong area. Data were collected using the observation method by direct observation at certain predetermined points consisting at the forest area around the settlement of Kuranji Village. This research was analyzed descriptively and qualitatively. The results of the research on the type of food Macaca fascicularis found in the forest area of Mount Pengsong as many as 28 plant species, while around the settlement of Kuranji Village as many as 17 plant species. The preference of Macaca fascicularis in the forest area of Mount Pengsong was obtained as many as 5 plant species consisting of Ficus benjamina 15.2%, Syzygium cumini 11.9%, Durio zibethinus 7.3%, Bambusa vulgaris 6.7% and Syzygium aqueum 6.6%, while the preference of Macaca fascicularis around the settlement of Kuranji Village was obtained as many as 9 plant species consisting of Muntingia calabura 17,5%, Moringa oleifera 12,4%, Syzygium cumini 11,3%, Nephelium lappaceum 10,3%, Ficus carica 8.9%, Mangifera indica 8%, Syzygium aqueum 7,9%, Ficus benjamina 6.8% and Manilkara kauki 5.7%.

Monyet ekor panjang (Macaca fasicularis) merupakan salah satu hewan jenis primata yang banyak dimanfaatkan untuk kebutuhan pada berbagai aspek. Salah satu bidang penting yang memenuhi manfaat monyet ekor panjang adalah perannya sebagai salah satu fauna yang menjadi daya tarik wisata dan banyak diminati oleh banyak pengunjung saat bertandang ke kebun binatang maupun suaka margasatwa. Akan tetapi, selain menjadi binatang yang ditangkar, monyet ekor panjang yang masih bebas di alam menjadi objek eksploitasi yang kerap dilakukan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi perilaku harian monyet ekor panjang (M. fascicularis) di salah satu kawasan penangkaran satwa yakni Bontomarannu Education Park. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada tanggal 22 Juni dan 2 Juli 2022 dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil yang diperoleh yaitu presentase terbanyak dengan 42% perilaku makan, sebanyak 28% bergerak, 15% agonistik, 11% perawatan diri (grooming) dan sebanyak 4% istirahat (inaktif).
