“…Calderon et al [23] fabricated CuInS 2 thin film solar cell with structures Mo/CuInS 2 /ZnS/ZnO and Mo/CuInS 2 /In 2 S 3 / ZnO using ZnS and In 2 S 3 as buffer layers and concluded that the former structure have best efficiency of 7.8% as compared to later structure's efficiency of 6.5%. The effect of sulfurization temperature and time on the optical, electrical and photoelectrical properties of β-In 2 S 3 thin films is investigated by Yoosuf et al [24] employing twostage process with rapid heating in H 2 S atmosphere.…”

“…CIS absorption layer, during the S diffusion, combining part of Mo formed an intermediate MoS 2 layer between CIS and Mo layer [15]. Calderón et al [14] experimentally found such MoS 2 layer in the Mo/CuInS 2 interface [16] and similar structures have also been reported in other solar cells based on Cu(In,Ga)Se 2 [17]. This MoS 2 layer gives rise to a small conduction-band offset with respect to the CuInS 2 bulk material and a small Schottky barrier at the Mo back contact.…”

“…Mo back layer is contacted with the WZ-CIS absorption layer in WZ-CIS thin film solar cells. Some researchers found that portion of S diffused into Mo back contact in CIS deposition process [14]. CIS absorption layer, during the S diffusion, combining part of Mo formed an intermediate MoS 2 layer between CIS and Mo layer [15].…”

“…The highest reported values of power conversion efficiencies (PCEs) for pure CZTS, pure CZTSe and their mixture based solar cells have reached 8.4, 12.6 and 11.6%, respectively [8,9]. The maximum efficiency recorded for copper indium sulfide (CuInS2) thin-film based solar cell is 12.5% and in the case of using ZnS the best efficiency of about 7.8%, was recorded for the cell structure Mo/CuInS2/ZnS/ZnO [10].…”
