Studies of hypernuclei by associated production

Abstract: Until recently, the spectroscopy of A-hypernuclei has been studied by use of the well-known, strangeness-exchanging (K,n) reactions. These reactions are typically characterized by small momentum transfer, q < qp, where qp is the Fermi momentum. They populate preferentially states of low angular momentum and are effective in producing "substitutior.al states" in which the A has the same orbital as the neutron it replaces (AL=0).

“…Recent experimental results [15] [27,28] comprises the complete set of S = −2 YY interactions, and it is therefore of interest to examine its predictions for doublehypernuclei, while the NSC89 model without YY interaction serves for a reference calculation.…”

“…It is therefore useful to employ these potentials for microscopical calculations of hypernuclear structure, and to confront their predictions with experimental data, in particular on singleparticle levels of single-Λ hypernuclei, for which quite detailed experimental information exists [7] and will be looked for in the coming experiments.…”

“…Such information is crucial for understanding the properties of multi strange hyper nuclei .The single  hyper nuclei ( which consists of  hyperons coupled to a core nucleus) have been extensively studied and investigated due to the existence of many experimental data for various single  hyper nuclei over almost the whole mass table [1]- [3]. However the situation is different in the case of double  hyper nuclei where only three spices of double  hyper nuclei  6 He and  10 Be,  13 B have been experimentally discovered and identified [4]- [8].…”
