“…The base, optimal and ceiling temperatures for germination of S. marianum seeds are reported to be 2.7, 18 and 40.3°C, respectively (Nadjafi, Tabrizi, Shabahang, & Mahdavi‐Damghani, 2009), whereas in another study the corresponding temperatures were 5.19, 24.01 and 34.32°C, respectively (Parmoon, Moosavi, Akbari, & Ebadi, 2015). Other factors such as smoke increased the germination percentage of S. marianum seeds at 25°C under a 16/8 h light/dark photoperiod (Abdollahi, Mehrshad, & Moosavi, 2011), but water stress decreased germination of non‐dormant seeds of S. marianum (Jain & Puri, 2018). In nearly all the above‐mentioned studies, except for temperature during seed storage (which was around 20–25°C), other conditions for seed after‐ripening (seed moisture content and storage period) were not defined.…”
