“…Complete suppression, most often found in intraspecific hybrids retaining nearly complete sets of parental chromosomes, has been interpreted as resulting from complementation by the normal cell partner of the loss or malfunction of specific regulatory suppressor genes in the malignant partner (104)(105). The re-expression of tumorigenicity in segregant variants selected from suppressed hybrids both in vivo and in vitro has been correlated to the loss of a certain number of chromosomes contributed by the normal cell partner (112,26,113).
