Study of coupling optics of cylindrical microlens fabricated on tips of graded index fibers having different profile exponents

Abstract: With the help of ABCD matrix concept, we examine the coupling efficiency of a single mode circular core graded index fiber (GIF) excited by laser diode via cylindrical micro lens on the fiber tip. We investigate the efficiencies for refractive index distribution of some specific profile exponents such as g = 4.0, 8.0, 10.0 and 20.0.
