Abstract:BACKGROUNDEctopic pregnancy is a significant cause of morbidity and mortality in the first trimester of pregnancy. Treatment with Methotrexate (MTX), an antimetabolite chemotherapeutic agent that binds to the enzyme dihydrofolate reductase, which is involved in the synthesis of purine nucleotides.
