We report a study of the decay D 0 →K 0 π − e þ ν e based on a sample of 2.93 fb −1 e þ e − annihilation data collected at the center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. The total branching fraction is determined to be BðD 0 →K 0 π − e þ ν e Þ ¼ ð1.434 AE 0.029ðstat:Þ AE 0.032ðsyst:ÞÞ%, which is the most precise to date. According to a detailed analysis of the involved dynamics, we find this decay is dominated with the K Ã ð892Þ − contribution and present an improved measurement of its branching fraction to be BðD 0 → K Ã ð892Þ − e þ ν e Þ ¼ ð2.033 AE 0.046ðstat:Þ AE 0.047ðsyst:ÞÞ%. We further access their hadronic form-factor ratios for the first time as r V ¼ Vð0Þ=A 1 ð0Þ ¼ 1.46 AE 0.07ðstat:Þ AE 0.02ðsyst:Þ and r 2 ¼ A 2 ð0Þ=A 1 ð0Þ ¼ 0.67 AE 0.06ðstat:Þ AE 0.01ðsyst:Þ. In addition, we observe a significantK 0 π − S-wave component accounting for ð5.51 AE 0.97ðstat:Þ AE 0.62ðsyst:ÞÞ% of the total decay rate.

I discuss the production mechanism of hidden-flavored hadrons at high energy. Using e + e − collisions and light-meson pair production in high energy exclusive processes, I demonstrate that hidden quark pairs do not necessarily participate in short-distance hard scattering. Implications are then explored in a few examples. Finally, I discuss the production mechanism of X(3872) in hadron collisions, where some misunderstandings have arisen in the literature.

We present a comprehensive analysis of form factors for two light pseudoscalar mesons induced by scalar, vector, and tensor quark operators. The theoretical framework is based on a combination of unitarized chiral perturbation theory and dispersion relations. The low-energy constants in chiral perturbation theory are fixed by a global fit to the available data of the two-meson scattering phase shifts. Each form factor derived from unitarized chiral perturbation theory is improved by iteratively applying a dispersion relation. This study updates the existing results in the literature and explores those that have not been systematically studied previously, in particular the two-meson tensor form factors within unitarized chiral perturbation theory. We also discuss the applications of these form factors as mandatory inputs for low-energy phenomena, such as the semi-leptonic decays Bs→ π+π−ℓ+ℓ− and the τ lepton decay τ → π−π0ντ, in searches for physics beyond the Standard Model.
