I review the experimental evidence for the X(3915), the candidate nonstandard meson associated with ωJ/ψ resonance-like peaks in B → KωJ/ψ and γγ → ωJ/ψ near M(ωJ/ψ) = 3920 MeV, and address the conjecture that it can be identified as the χ c2 , the radial excitation of the χ c2 charmonium state. Since the partial decay width for B → KX(3915) is at least an order-ofmagnitude higher than that for B → Kχ c2 , its assignment as the χ c2 is dubious. *

Measuring CP violation in b→cτ−ν¯τ using excited charm

There is growing evidence for deviation from the standard model predictions in the ratios between semitauonic and semileptonic B decays, known as the RðD ðÃÞ Þ puzzle. If the source of this nonuniversality is new physics, it is natural to assume that it also breaks CP symmetry. In this paper we study the possibility of measuring CP violation in semitauonic B decays, exploiting interference between excited charm mesons. Given the current values of RðD ðÃÞ Þ, we find that our proposed CP-violation observable could be as large as about 10%. We discuss the experimental advantages of our method and propose carrying it out at Belle II and LHCb.
