Study ofe+epp

Abstract: Study of e + e − → ppπ 0 in the Vicinity of the ψ(3770) The process e + e − → ppπ 0 has been studied by analyzing data collected at √ s = 3.773 GeV, at √ s = 3.650 GeV, and during a ψ(3770) line shape scan with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII 3 collider. The Born cross section of ppπ 0 in the vicinity of the ψ(3770) is measured and the Born cross section of ψ(3770) → ppπ 0 is extracted considering interference between resonant and continuum production amplitudes. Two solutions with the same probability and a… Show more

“…To estimate the background from the process e þ e − → ppπ 0 ðγÞ, we use the difference of the θ miss distributions between signal and background events. The MC samples generated based on the measured angular distributions of the process e þ e − → ppπ 0 [40,41] are used. Figure 8 shows the distributions of θ miss , the polar angle of the missing momentum, for data events and simulated signal and e þ e − → ppπ 0 background events.…”

“…Yet, since the phase space to DD is not excessively large, it is likely that the missing decays are simply the sum of all the many Okubo-Zweig-Iizuka (OZI)-suppressed hadronic decays, that have not been studied systematically in the theory. Estimations for the ψ(3770) production via pp annihilation are made in [23,24,25], which may possibly be measured at the PANDA experiment [26]. 40 Mass estimations for the ψ(3770) have also been made on the lattice [27,28].…”

“…CLEO Collaboration also studied ψ(2S) → ppπ 0 channel and got a similar strong N * (1440) peak [32]. There is no obvious N * (1440) peak for e + e − → ppπ 0 in the vicinity of the ψ(3770) [31].…”
