The operational characteristics of the intra-house gas supply system are determined by the quality and reliability of the materials of the intra-house wiring, which are subject to technical requirements, laying and installation requirements. The subject of the study was the performance characteristics of alternative materials: steel, multilayer metal-polymer and copper pipes for the gas supply system. The purpose of the scientific work was to conduct a thematic content analysis and interpret information to assess the impact of the use of materials on the operational characteristics of intra-house gas pipelines laid from the external structure of buildings to the connection point of gas appliances and apparatus. The information base of the study was the materials of technical regulations of the set of rules aimed at the safety of buildings and structures, as well as the reliability and safety of operation of gas distribution networks, and the expansion of the use of modern materials for intra-house gas pipelines. The study used both theoretical research methods (analysis, analytical generalization) and practical methods (comparison, measurement), as well as thematic content analysis of text arrays for meaningful interpretation of data. As a result of the study, a qualitative and quantitative assessment of pipe materials for the intra-house gas supply system, a comparison of technical and operational characteristics, ease of installation, maintenance, and ensuring the safe operation of the gas supply system are presented. Finally, a conclusion is drawn, based on thematic results of the study, about the requirements for the reliability and safety of operation of intra-house gas pipelines, as the main elements of the intra-house gas supply system, technical characteristics, preferences and restrictions on the use of pipes made of various types of materials with an optimal combination of operational properties.
