Studies done by Singh HD et al, 14 swaminathan et al 3 Mahajan KK et al, 15 Ramachandra et al 16 and Malik SK et al 4 showed that south Indian children had lower PEFR values in comparison to north Indian children who in turn had lesser PEFR values when compared to their western counterparts as evidenced by studies done by Godfrey S et al, 9 Carson JWK et al, 17 Sanz et al 18 and Host A et al 11 In the present study, PEFR values were low in comparison to North Indian children. In contrast, the study conducted by Parmar et al 19 showed that PEFR values in healthy North Indian school children were similar to the findings from the western countries.…”
