Study of Photoacoustic Three-Dimensional Imaging by the Simultaneous Measurement of Multiple Frequencies Method

Abstract: In this short note, a new technique for three-dimensional (3-D) high-speed imaging of the subsurface crack of an opaque material is proposed. First, the theoretical explanation and principle of simultaneous measurement of multiple frequencies (SMMF) method are given. The 3-D image and the elapsed time of a drill hole beneath the surface of graphite have also been described.

“…Photothermal spectroscopy is one of the most sensitive detection methods for nonfluorescent chemical species in a liquid solution, 3,4) and photothermal and related techniques have been applied to the investigation of solid materials for nondestructive evaluation. [5][6][7][8][9][10][11] The thermal lens method, a photothermal method, is suitable for observing substances in biological cells because it is based on the optical excitation and detection of photothermal effects, and is easy to use in combination with optical microscopy. Using a microscopic thermal lens method, an amino acid stained with a yellow dye in a single biological cell was analyzed.…”
