Abstract:RationaleCytosine and its conjugates are prone to form protonated, triply‐bonded dimers. Therefore, the nucleic‐acid cytosine‐rich sequence forms the four‐stranded noncanonical secondary structure known as the intercalated motif (i‐motif).
