“…Experimental investigation was conducted with arc rib with multiple gap roughness geometry [19] and came to conclude that the performance of arc rib with multiple gaps is better than continuous arc geometry [16] and broken arc shaped rib geometry [18]. Novel discrete symmetrical arc rib geometry was experimentally investigated with the aspect ratio W/H as 8 [20]. Symmetrical gap arc geometry and staggered element [21] shows better enrichment in Nu and f in comparison of an arc rib with multiple gap roughness geometry [19].…”

“…The details of the accuracy of the devices are given in the Table 1. An uncertainty analysis is performed to ascertain the standard error in the measurement of the mass flow rate and thermal efficiency [42][43][44].…”

“…The V-shaped configuration promotes the interaction of secondary flows with the main flow resulting in increased heat transmission. Azad et al 18 made use of discretely placed arc ribs that are symmetric in nature for the Reynolds number range of 3000–14,000 by varying the non-dimensional gap distance (2, 3, 4 and 5) for the normalised height of 0.045, normalised pitch of 10 and tilt angle of 30°. As compared to V-rib, discrete arc shaped rib has been shown to exhibit substantially greater effective performance with TEF value as high as 1.68 owing to higher turbulence levels created in the flow.…”
