Study of the cure characteristics and viscoelastic behavior of styrene‐butadiene rubber compounds by using a rubber process analyzer

Abstract: Viscoelastic and cure properties of styrene-butadiene rubber compounds were investigated by using a ''Rubber Process Analyzer.'' The effects of sulfur content in the cure system and carbon black (CB) type and concentration on the cure behavior of samples were studied. As the ratio of S/accelerator in the curative increased, the cure rate increased, and the cure time decreased. Here, the elasticity was analyzed by considering the drop in the maximum of viscous torque (D S 00 ) and the resilience, which increase… Show more

“…Therefore, with existence of more BK amounts in the compound cure process occurs faster, scorch time decreases and rate of cure increases. We found the same observation in the curing process of black loaded SBR compounds [10]. In contrast, incorporating of NS does not change the rate of cure significantly.…”

“…Therefore, it is necessary to find the BK effects on the behavior of compound before, after and during the process. Many researchers have investigated into the influences of BK on the thermal and mechanical [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8], rheological and viscoelastic [9][10][11] and vulcanization [10,11,13] properties of filled compounds. The interfacial area between rubber and carbon black increases with dispersion therefore the new bonds are created, which affect the compound behavior.…”
