Study of the four-body decays $B^{0}_{S} \rightarrow ππππ$ in the perturbative QCD approach

Hui-Qin Liang,
Xian-Qiao Yu

Abstract: In this work, we analyse the CP-averaged branching ratios and direct CP-violating asymmetries of the fourbody decays B 0 S → ππππ decay from the S-wave resonances, f0(980) and f0(500) and P-wave resonances, ρ(770) by introducing the S-wave and P-wave ππ distribution amplitudes within the framework of the perturbative QCD approach. We also calculate branching ratios of the two-body decays B 0 S → ρ 0 ρ 0 , B 0 S → ρ + ρ − from the corresponding quasi-two-body decays models and compare our our results with those… Show more

“…In our previous works [76][77][78], the PQCD factorization formalism based on the quasi-two-bodydecay mechanism for four-body B meson decays have been well established. Within the framework of PQCD approach, the branching ratios and direct CP asymmetries of four-body decays B 0 (s) → ππππ have also been studied [79]. As a first step, we can only restrict ourselves to the specific kinematical configurations in which each two particles move collinearly and two pairs of final state particles recoil back in the rest frame of the B meson, see Fig.…”
