Abstract:A comparative study of the magnetic properties of a palladium–cobalt alloy with an impurity content of up to 0.05 at. % was made using calculations based on the density functional theory and experimental methods. It was found that the alloys had ferromagnetic ordering, which depended on the impurity concentration. At very low concentrations, less than 1 at. %, the magnetic moment per impurity atom can reach 25 µB.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
