The review summarises the results of EIS analysis of sulphide films formed on steel during hydrogen sulphide and microbiologically induced corrosion, as well as inhibition of these processes. The issues of the effectiveness of anticorrosive protection of pipeline systems, the possibility of chemical modelling of biocorrosion activity of media, identifying the contribution of corrosion inhibitors to the barrier action of surface films on the corroded steel are considered as well. The information presented in the review will be of interest to employees of the anti-corrosion protection services of oil and gas producing and transporting companies.
