“…concentrations are presented in table 3 at T = 298.15 K. In this table, the value for the solubility of L-serine in pure water measured in our previous work [11] is also compared with those obtained previously [32][33][34]. As shown in this table, the value measured for the solubility of Lserine in this work is in good agreement with the literature values, especially with reference [34].…”

“…In continuation of our previous studies on the effect of 1-carboxymethyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride [HOOCMMIM][Cl] and 1-carboxyethyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride [HOOCEMIM][Cl] ionic liquids on the solubility of amino acids [11][12][13], in this work the effect of commonly used 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium bromide, [C 4 mim][Br] ionic liquid on aqueous amino acid solutions was studied in order to obtain further evidence of the salting effect produced by the addition of this kind of ionic liquid. For this purpose, water activity for the ternary system {L-serine + [C 4 mim][Br] + H 2 O} was measured using the improved isopiestic method at T = 298.15 K. Furthermore, to have a better insight about the interactions between IL and amino acid solutions, we also measured the solubility of L-serine in aqueous [C 4 mim][Br] solutions at 298.15 K using the gravimetric method.…”
