Study on Acoustic Emission and Coda Wave Characteristics of Layered Cemented Tailings Backfill under Uniaxial Compression

Abstract: The paper analyzes the effects of filling times and filling interval time on the acoustic emission characteristics and coda wave characteristics of layered cemented tailings backfill under uniaxial compression and, to a certain extent, enriches the study of layered cemented tailings backfill in this field. The work aims to monitor the early warning of layered cemented tailings backfill with different layering factors during deformation and damage by the changing law of acoustic emission and ultrasonic signals.… Show more

“…Acoustic emission refers to elastic strain waves generated by sudden release of strain energy inside an object [9][10][11][12]. Slight deformation occurs in corroded area on the bottom plate of metal storage tanks under load pressure, leading to cracking in corrosion layers and generation of acoustic emission signals.…”

“…AE refers to elastic strain waves generated by a sudden release of strain energy inside an object [9][10][11][12]. A slight deformation occurs in a corroded area on the bottom plate of a metal storage tank under load pressure, leading to cracking in the corroded layers and the generation of AE signals.…”

“…Furthermore, it brings about shutdowns, emptying procedures, replacements and cleanings, resulting in substantial economic losses and potential environmental pollution. AE refers to elastic strain waves generated by a sudden release of strain energy inside an object [9][10][11][12]. A slight deformation occurs in a corroded area on the bottom plate of a metal storage tank under load pressure, leading to cracking in the corroded layers and the generation of AE signals.…”

“…Acoustic emission characteristic parameters were used to characterize crack initiation and propagation, and the fracture mode in the deformation and failure process of rocks [25,26]. The evolution law of acoustic emission signals in the failure process of backfill with different cement-tailing ratios was explored [27][28][29][30][31][32].…”
