Study on product structure of 8 GW converter transformer for 800 kV flexible HVDC

Abstract

Based on the design scheme of ±800 kV 8 GW flexible DC converter transformer, given the large magnetic leakage loss caused by a large number of voltage regulating leads, this paper proposes an improvement measure to add a compensating copper plate to the core plate at the side of the voltage regulating leads. It calculates the structural parts with the help of magnetic field analysis software MagNet. The analysis shows that the compensation copper plate can reduce the loss of structural parts and control the local overheating caused by magnetic leakage.
