Study on Recognition and Satisfaction of Modular Housing through the Post Occupancy Evaluation

Abstract: Recently, many researches on the supply of public rental-housings that utilize modular houses have been conducted for the expanded supply of public rental house and consumer-customized supply. For this reason, a research on recognition and satisfaction of residents who live in modular houses was conducted based on their evaluations on public rental houses utilizing actual modular houses. Consequently planning guidelines that would increase residency satisfaction was drawn. Surveys and interviews of 'The Gongne… Show more

“…Although a number of different analytical methods have been used to define the components and characteristics of the LCA program, most were originally designed for refrigerators, microwave ovens, general consumer goods, or other raw materials and resources [47][48][49]. LCA in a building can be evaluated by applying international LCA guidelines, such as ISO 14040 [50], to assess the environmental impact across the entire process, which is assessed separately by goal and scope definition, list analysis, and impact assessment [51][52][53][54][55].…”

“…7 Therefore, the infill method is somewhat better at securing structural performance compared to the stack method and is primarily used in the construction of tall buildings. 9 However, the stack method is currently more popular because the infill method requires skilled workers and, in the event that the process control plan is not established properly, space to store modular units on site. [10][11][12] When the stack method is used, large shear forces, such as from an earthquake or wind loads, are concentrated on the intermodular connections [13][14][15][16] ; therefore, quality control of the intermodular connections becomes critical.…”
