Study on the Effect of Different Factors on the Change of the Phosphorus-Rich Phase in High Phosphorus Steel Slag

Abstract: With the use of high phosphorus iron ore, there is a large amount of high phosphorus steel slag formed, which is difficult to handle. How to separate the elemental phosphorus has become a key issue in the secondary utilization of steel slag. Experiments found that there were distinct phosphorus-rich phases, iron-rich phases and matrix phases in the high-phosphorus steel slag cooled with the furnace. In this study, the effects of heat treatment conditions and slag basicity on the P2O5 content, as well as the si… Show more

“…Several scholars [ 22–27 ] have thoroughly investigated the mineral phase composition of steel slag, identifying three main mineral phases, namely, calcium silicate phase, calcium iron phase, and RO (including FeO, MnO, and MgO). Phosphorus present in the slag existed as calcium phosphate in the calcium silicate phase.…”

“…The main parameters for evaluating the dephosphorization reaction were the phosphorus balance distribution ratio, the P 2 O 5 activity coefficient, and the phosphorus capacity. Theoretical calculations were carried out based on thermodynamic formulas to analyze the influence of the main components and temperature of dephosphorization slag on the dephosphorization effect and to provide guidance for optimizing the converter dephosphorization process [26]. The contents of slag components in the dephosphorization stage of the converter used for calculation are shown in Table 1.…”

“…Therefore, how to realize the recycling of converter slag in the furnace has become an important research direction. Bao et al [4] studied the leaching law of phosphorus in different acids from high-phosphorus converter slag using a selective leaching process. Wang et al [5] studied the kinetics of microwave carbothermal dephosphorization of converter slag, indicating that the carbothermal reduction reaction is a second-order reaction, and that the limiting link may be an interfacial chemical reaction.…”
