Abstract:Realizing both smaller cavity mode volume and higher Q factors is a key challenge for micropillar. Towards achieving this objective, we report a novel conic top-mirror micropillar resonator (CTMR). The special design of a conic mirror not only increases the Q factor of the micropillar, but reduces the cavity mode volume. In this paper, the eigenmodes confined in the CTMR are analyzed by the finite element method. Compared with the same size planar top mirror resonator (PTMR) and spherical top mirror resonator … Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
