“…It has been reported in the literature that the solution pH has a significant effect on the oxidation potential of NaClO 2 [23][24][25][26][27][28][29]. Therefore, the dependence of simultaneous removal on ACO pH was investigated.…”

“…On the one hand, from the perspective of electrochemical, the standard electrode potential of ClO 2 À (ClO 2 À /Cl À (1.599 V)) was a little higher than that of ClO 2 (ClO 2 /Cl À (1.511 V)) [32], therefore, the oxidation of NO was promoted when more ClO 2 À presented in reaction system. On the other hand, although ClO 2 had a potential to oxidize NO [24,25], the instant decomposition of NaClO 2 as ClO 2 resulting from excessive H + may cause a larger emission of ClO 2 to atmosphere, resulting in a loss of effective oxidants. From the view that the application of the integrative process may encounter the device acidic corrosion, the appropriate pH of ACO was determined as 7.0.…”

“…The other important source of SO 2 attributable to humans is the processing of sulfurbearing ores (de Nevers 2000). The emission of SO 2 is a major environmental concern because of its hazardous effects on human health and the ecosystems (Deshwal et al 2008). Thus, SO 2 removal from flue gases is a goal of many air pollution engineers.…”

“…Sci. 2017, 7, 377 2 of 10 oxidation have been reported [5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12], including gas phase catalytic oxidation, ozone oxidation, corona discharge oxidation, and liquid oxidation. After oxidation, the soluble NO2 can be further removed with SO2 in the subsequent absorption process [13].…”

“…N2 formation can be explained by the following reactions [31], The sulfite plays an important role in N2 formation according to Reactions (4) and (5). Thus N2 concentration decrease is due to the fact that sulfite concentration in reaction system gradually declines and finally disappears.…”
