Abstract:In this study, cyclone separator, with nine different vortex finder eccentricities are simulated computationally (CFD). The numerical technique is based upon solving three dimensional, incompressible, turbulent flow governing equations using the Reynolds stress turbulent model. The results show that moving the vortex finder eccentricities in two directions is more effective than moving it in one direction only. Case 5 achieves the lowest pressure drop where the vortex finder eccentricity is moved in the positi… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
