Studying the Genesis of Igneous Rocks in Zarin-Kamar Region (Shahrood, Northeastern Iran) by Rare Earth Elements

Abstract: Zarin-Kamar region is located north east of Shahrood (36o37’-36o42’N, 55007’-55012’E). Plutonic rocks in this area belongs to syenite group and their texture is intergranular hypidiomorphic. Volcanic rocks in the area have porphyritic, amygdale intersertal texture. which quartz is also seen among their cavities and porosities. Total concentration of REEs (ΣREE) in the study igneous rocks varies between 450 and 683 ppm. Diagram of Eu/Eu* versus Sr and Eu/Eu* versus Ba show negative anomalies of Eu. This pheno… Show more

“…This formation borders the Triassic and contains shallow black shales and fine-grained sandstone layers of olive green to dark gray. The formation is located between limestone-shale layers with plant fossil fragments (Bagheri., 1998;Badr., 2012, Nazemi et al, 2019. This unit is the oldest exposed part of the Kamoo index (Figure 2-A).…”

“…Obviously, such a method can be applied to few earthquakes. Studies conducted in Iran using the teleseismic body wave modeling technique (Maggie et al 2000and 2002, Kheiri Namin et al 2015, Nazemi et al 2019, Baratian et al 2020 show that seismicity in the Iranian Plateau is essentially limited to the upper 20 km of the crust.…”

“…The Dehshir fault with the general direction of NNW-SSE has partially crossed the structural zones of Sanandaj-Sirjan, Urmia Dokhtar, and Central Iran magmatic arc. It is considered the western boundary of the set of the north-south dextral strike-slip fault of central Iran and eastern Iran, which is very important in terms of color mix expansion (Nazemi et al, 2019, Shafaii et al, 2010.…”
