Studying the harmonic vibrations of a cylindrical shell made of a nonlinear elastic piezoelectric material

Abstract: The paper examines the harmonic vibrations of an infinitely long thin cylindrical shell made of a nonlinear elastic piezoceramic material and subjected to periodic electric loading. Amplitude-frequency characteristics are plotted for different amplitudes of the load. Points of these characteristics are analyzed for stability. The transients occurring while harmonic vibrations attain the steady state are studied Keywords: piezoceramics, cylindrical shell, harmonic vibrations, amplitude-frequency characteristics… Show more

“…The interaction of physical and geometrical nonlinearities for transient and stationary processes is studied Keywords: piezoelectric materials, physical nonlinearity, geometrical nonlinearity, forced vibration, layered beam, damping of vibration Introduction. The stringent requirements to modern complex devices have recently compelled many researchers to pay attention to the modeling and control of the vibration of flexible structures [2][3][4][12][13][14][15][16][17]. The rapid development of the modern technology necessitates changing over from the traditional methods of vibration control to new ones that allow implementing more complex and highly effective operating modes and observing numerous life and reliability criteria.…”

“…Rib-reinforced open cylindrical shells were analyzed in [4,7] in the case of a regular set of longitudinal ribs and in [1,2] in the case of a quasiregular set of longitudinal ribs. Similar problems were solved in [8][9][10]. …”

“…Using (8), (9), and the procedure of solving infinite systems of linear algebraic equations [4,5] analogous to (5), we easily obtain the exact solution of these systems. As a result, we get dispersion equations of three types, which are presented below (Secs.…”
