Abstract:We consider the impact of quantization noise due to analog-to-digital conversion (ADC) on characteristics of the wireless communication systems with single carrier modulation and frequency domain equalization (SCFDE) and orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) of multiple subcarriers. It is shown that in the channels without temporal dispersion, the minimum ADC resolution for the SCFDE system can be from 1 to 2 bits lower than for the OFDM system. However, for the channels with strong frequency selec… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
