Abstract:Abstract. We study a compact ensemble of beads in a two-dimensional sheared configuration by means of molecular dynamics. The rheology obtained for low shear rates shows a plateau and the presence of sticking agglomerates of particles. The lifetime of these agglomerates can stand several thousands time units. Also, our analysis of the mean square displacement shows that it grows like (Δr(τ)) 2 ∼ τ β with β < 1.0. This last corresponds to a subdiffusive flow in the quasi-static regime characterized by the prese… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
