IntroductIonChronic periodontitis is an inflammatory disease which is characterized by a progressive gingival inflammatory response to bacterial dental plaque. It leads to clinical attachment loss, pocket formation, alveolar bone loss, increased tooth mobility, and finally the tooth loss.
