Bockus et al (2001) and Watson et al (1993) mentioned that susceptibility of winter wheat to Hessian fly [Mayetiola destructor (Say)], leaf rust (incited by Puccinia triticina), and several virus diseases could be obstacles for successful winter forage production, especially in early planted regions.
