Abstract:We report a 36-year old woman who suffered from massive pulmonary embolism with multiple thrombogenic risk factors. She was successfully treated with pulmonary embolectomy. Our report reinforces the importance of early diagnosis in the presence of a high clinical suspicion for pulmonary embolism. Furthermore, surgical pulmonary embolectomy remains one of the most effective treatment methods.
