Successful treatment of severe aplastic anemia with syngeneic stem cell transplantation in the setting of active disseminated mucormycosis

Abstract: Severe aplastic anemia (SAA) is a hematological disease resulting in pancytopenia due to bone marrow failure. Treatment consists of immunosppressive therapy, or allo-SCT. Patients with aplastic anemia are predisposed to invasive fungal infections due to mucormycosis.
