Abstract: Despite improvements in the medical management of persistent pulmonary hypertension of the newborn (PPHN), a significant number of patients persist with inadequate gas exchange and are treated with extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). Prolonged time to weaning ECMO can increase mortality risk.
