Abstract:It is preferred to recycle resources and energy from pollutants rather than simply remove them. An energy-free concept for sulfide-containing wastewater utilization is presented here. The two-electron route electro-oxidation of sulfide to sulfur cooperates with the four-electron route oxygen reduction reaction to operate as an abiotic sulfide/air fuel cell. It can recycle sulfur and energy from sulfidecontaining wastewater in the meantime. Two types of prototypes are fabricated, where both air-aerated cathode … Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
