13C NMR of coumarins I: 3‐(1,1‐Dimethylallyl) derivatives

Abstract: The 13C NMR data of nine 3‐(1,1‐dimethylallyl)coumarins are reported and compared with those of the corresponding C‐3 unsubstituted compounds. A spectro‐scopic criterion for distinguishing C‐3 alkylated dihydrofurano‐ from dihydro‐pyrano‐coumarins is proposed.
