Superconducting Qubits

Abstract: Superconducting qubits were initially developed with the goal of realizing a superposition of macroscopically distinct quantum states by exploiting superconducting circuits. This basic idea resulted from the quantum mechanical description of the Josephson junction, the key element for producing superconducting qubits. Because the phase across a Josephson junction and its charge are canonical conjugates, there are two alternative realizations of superconducting qubits. The first one is based on the charge degre… Show more

“…On the other hand, superconducting quantum circuit, because of its advantages of tunability and flexibility, has received a lot of attention. [ 29–50 ] The system can be used in quantum information processing (QIP) such as implementing quantum gates, [ 31–33 ] preparing quantum states, [ 35,36,44 ] performing teleportation, [ 40 ] and working as quantum readout [ 37–39 ] or quantum error correction code. [ 43,44 ] Phonon blockade in the superconducting quantum circuit has also been widely investigated, [ 19,25,51–53 ] such as the phonon blockade based on the Jaynes–Cummings model, [ 19 ] nonlinear qubit‐phonon coupling [ 25 ] and quadratic coupling between qubit and nanomechanical resonator, [ 54 ] and multiphonon blockade in coupled nanomechanical resonators.…”
