“…On the other hand, use of fascia lata autograft comes with increased risks of donor site morbidity and increased operation time. Dermal allografts are also popular 10,11,12 in SCR; however, they result in a thinner graft (3-4 mm) and they costs more.…”

“…T he surgical techniques of SCR derived from Mihata in 2007 11 . Following that, a variety of techniques have been reported 14,16,31,32,34,[43][44][45][46][47] . According to the type of grafts, we summarized two main surgical procedures, one was the ASCR with fascia lata autograft or acellular dermal allograft, another was ASCR with the LHBT.…”

“…Based on the biomechanical effect, SCR can be used in RCT with poor tissue quality, tendon retraction or muscle atrophy 19 , 20 , 21 . Different grafts were used in clinic and achieve preliminary success 14 , 16 , 21 , 22 .…”

“…Although human-derived dermal allografts and fascia lata allografts have comparable outcomes, porcine-derived dermal xenograft has less favorable and inconstant results in the literature. Despite similar time-zero characteristics, less promising results in the follow-up were attributed to inferior biological response and failure of healing in the bone-graft interface ( Ferrando et al, 2021 ). The reasons for the failure of these materials need detailed specific research on the cellular level since various enzymatic reactions and molecular signaling factors involve wound healing and cell proliferation.…”
