“…Gagliostro et al (2002), Jensen (2002), and Maiztegui (2002) on the other hand explain the increase in fat by the fact that the body condition of the experimental cows was low; thus bypass fat may have been the source for the increased fat in milk. On the contrary, the decrease in fat concentration reported by many authors such as Baumgard et al (2001) and Peterson et al (2004), is explained by the 'low fat milk syndrome' that is related to the formation and absorption of trans 10, cis 12 conjugated linoleic acid (CLA2) and possibly other unique fatty acids generated by biohydrogenation in rumen.…”
