Suppression of cross‐band scattering effect of shared‐aperture base station antenna by using sparse FSS

Abstract: In this article, a method on suppressing cross-band scattering effect of dualband dual-polarized shared-aperture antenna is proposed. The antenna consists of a lower-band (LB) element and a 2 Â 2 higher-band (HB) array.The proposed LB element radiator is a pair of crisscross-shaped dipoles using sparse frequency selective surface (SFSS) which is composed of a rectangular ring and a rectangular inner patch.
