Supramolecular arrangements of an organometallic forming nanostructured films

Abstract: Drganometallic materials have become subject of intensive research on distinct technological applications. The Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) and Langmuir-Schaefer (LS) techniques have proven to be suitable to address challenges inherent to organic devices, in which the film properties can be tuned at molecular level. Here, we report on the supramolecular arrangement of zinc(OO)-protoporphyrin(OX) dimethyl ester (ZnPPOX-DME) using the Langmuir, LB and LS techniques, leading to nanostructured films. The π-A isotherms s… Show more

“…That is to say, charge neutralization in this situation played a dominant role. It should be noted that charge attraction here contained two parts: one was the attraction between the flocculant and Cu(II), the other was the p-p stacking [26] between the positively charged triazine rings and the negatively charged aromatic rings of TC.…”

“…On the one hand, the increasing number of active amino groups on BDAT rings was believed to be beneficial for enhanced coordination with Cu(II); on the other hand, p-p stacking [26] of the aromatic triazine rings and TC was expected to establish interaction between the flocculant and the antibiotic molecules [27]. Effects of the pH, flocculants dosage, and initial contaminant concentration on the flocculation performance were systematically investigated.…”

“…The position that the molecules assume after the deposition of a thin film affects some properties, such eff ect is known as "supramolecular arrangement". Specially MPcs have attracted considerable interest in the development of devices and applications that take advantage on such characteristic of organized thin films (Camacho et al 2014, Martin et al 2018, Pavinatto et al 2011, Rubira et al 2017. In this case, the properties are directly related to the supramolecular arrangement, which can be tuned by the deposition technique (Martin et al 2018, Volpati et al 2008, MPc molecule used (Del Caño et al 2005, Usol'tseva et al 2014 as well as thermal treatment (Roy et al 2014).…”
