Surface Engineering of Carbon via Coupled Porosity Tuning and Heteroatom‐Doping for High‐Performance Flexible Fibrous Supercapacitors

Abstract: Flexible fibrous supercapacitors (FFS) are considered the next-generation wearable energy storage devices because they provide reliable safety, ecofriendliness, and high power density. In particular, the FFS is desirable for application to wearable electronics because it can overcome disadvantages of the lithium-ion battery (LIB), such as the hazard of explosion and the complex manufacturing process. Nevertheless, the practical application of the FFS continues to be inhibited by the poor energy storage perform… Show more

“…The C 1s signal of the GF, IQGF, and FN‐IQGF presented in Figure 4A‐C, respectively. Peaks were observed in the signal of the samples at ~284.5, 286.5, and 288.3 eV (C–C, C–O, and C═O bonds, respectively) 15,16 . Moreover, the ratio of oxygen‐containing groups in the various samples was verified, and shown in Figure 4D.…”

Compared to those of the GF, the C 1s signals of the IQGF and FN-IQGF can be deconvoluted into oxygencontaining groups on their surfaces, indicating that the reduction process improved the quality of GF, which is anticipated to enhance the electrical properties and, therefore, lead an improved rate capability in the ZIBs.…”
