Some results on the kinetics and mechanism of catalytic
processes obtained by use of a complex
strategy, including combined stationary and nonstationary
investigations, are discussed. The
approach developed is grounded on exact kinetic studies by gradientless
methods, isotopic
exchange, IR spectroscopy of surface compounds, isotopic effects,
adsorption measurements,
investigations of transition processes, and catalyst deactivation.
The reaction kinetics is related
to the specificity in the mechanism of processes under
investigation.
