In this paper, an efficient method for analyzing the electromagnetic(EM) scattering behavior of the anisotropic passive jamming clouds in bistatic radar. The electromagnetic scattering characteristics of the anisotropic passive jamming clouds are described in tensor permittivity, which can increase the difficulty of calculation, and both reflection and transmission coefficients are included in the efficient calculation of radar cross section (RCS). Therefore, the relationship between electric and magnetic fields in anisotropic media is obtained by substituting the tensor permittivity into Maxwell's equation. Meanwhile, combining the electromagnetic field expressions and boundary conditions in different regions, the reflection coefficient matrix and the transmission coefficient matrix can be presented. Furthermore, the bistatic RCS of anisotropic passive jamming clouds can be calculated efficiently by the physical optics (PO) method. Moreover, the reflection and transmission coefficients are substituted into Maxwell's equations for the electromagnetic field in space, and the bistatic RCS of anisotropic passive jamming clouds can be solved. In order to verify the accuracy and efficiency of the proposed algorithm in this paper, the results of the proposed method are compared with the finite element method (FEM) in detail. The results fully prove the excellent performance of this algorithm. Hence, the reflection coefficient and the transmission coefficient combined with the PO method are suitable for analyzing the EM scatting characteristics of anisotropic passive jamming clouds.
