Surface molecular imprinting onto fluorescein-coated magnetic nanoparticlesvia reversible addition fragmentation chain transfer polymerization: A facile three-in-one system for recognition and separation of endocrine disrupting chemicals

Abstract: In this study, we present a general protocol for the making of surface-imprinted magnetic fluorescence beads via reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer polymerization. The resulting composites were characterized by X-ray diffraction analysis, transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and energy dispersive spectroscopy. The as-synthesized beads exhibited homogeneous polymer films (thickness of about 5.7 nm), sphe… Show more

“…Simultaneously, the characteristic peak at 2θ of 18.1°was observed for the fluorescent FITC, which exists in the silica layer in samples. 28 The surface modification and conjugation of nanoparticles with APTES, FA, AICAR, and DOX were confirmed by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. For comparison, in oleic acid, confirm the presence of the oleic acid on the Fe 3 O 4 surface.…”

“…Infrared spectra were recorded using Fourier transform infrared spectrometer (FT/IR-4100, Thermo Nicolet Corporation, USA). 20 with necessary modi-cation. Briey, 1.0 g Fe 3 O 4 @SiO 2 microspheres were dispersed in 50 mL anhydrous toluene in a 100 mL three-necked ask by sonication for 15 min, followed by the addition of 2 mL 4-CPS and 1 mL triethylamine dropwise.…”

“…Finally, the template caffeine was eluted from the MIPs by 1.0 mL of DMSO-methanol solution containing 0.5% acetic acid twice with the help of UV irradiation for 10 min. The eluate was evaporated under nitrogen at 40 C, and the residue was redissolved in 1.0 mL DMSO for further analysis. Scheme 1(C) shows the whole extraction procedure.…”
